This farmhouse table recounts the country where it was born and the life of the brave peasants who sat around it. It is made of a very dense light oak due to the harsh climate of Cantal, where it has courageously grown.

In the modest farmhouse where it made its debut in the 18th century, this table was the main piece of furniture for several generations, accompanied simply by a pair of benches and a dish rack.

This type of table comes from the sector of Bort-les-Orgues where it would seem that a wheelwright, namely the craftsman who made the carts, produced according to the same rules and the same gestures a certain number of pieces of this kind in eighteenth century. You can’t find them anywhere else.

Patinated for centuries and bearing the memory of a life as close as possible to the essentials, in the preserved mountains of Cantal, these tables are now reappearing in the form of warm desks, in stalls open to the public as well as in the secret of our interiors.
